On Wednesday June 1, 2016, 2nd semester students of the Faculty of Life Science, including students from Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering (Pharm. Eng), and Food Technology visited PT Indolakto factory which is located at Cicurug, Sukabumi, West Java.
Students and staff from IULI received a very warm welcome from the factory manager of PT Indolakto Cicurug, Bapak Erik Budiman, who provided the students and staff with various information such as the products and the processes that occur within the factory.
IULI’s delegation is rector Dr. Ir. Tutuko Prajogo, MSMfgE and the dean of faculty of Engineering.
Among the products that are coming out of this factory are various variants of ‘Indomilk’ products such as powdered milk, ready to drink milk in tetrapack boxes or bottles, as well as condensed milk. During the visit students were given the opportunity to see the facilities starting from the area where raw materials are stored, up to the poduction processes with various of its automation system, down to the automatic boxing and canning of the final products that are ready for distribution.
The students asked various questions to the factory manager which would enhance the knowledge of the students and widen the perspective of the students on how the basic knowledge that they received in class are applied in real paractice. At the end the visit, gifts and souvenirs were exchanged.
