13 October 2017 – The annual International Relations (INR) student gathering happened again in the evening of October 13. This “meet-and-eat” session was a moment to briefly relax oneself from INR’s very busy schedule. Not only was it a time to sit, sing, and savor but it was also a kind of mid-semester welcoming party for the newest batch of INR students.
Unlike last year’s BBQ Night which took place at a public facility, this time it was decided to have it at a different place. Mr. and Mrs. Naim Machzyumi, the parents of HIMAHI (INR Student Association) Chair Faiq Faishal, kindly permitted their son to host the event at their house.
As BBQ Night is meant for having fun and mingling, no elaborate planning was involved. However as if it was the norm when it comes to INR, something special is almost always bound to show up. Not only was the event attended by students of other majors, Mr. Naim himself decided to join the happy night and had himself sing a song. That was truly a joyful night—and a special one indeed! The night confirms that INR students are a bunch of social science majors who are fluent not only at studying and organizing events, but also at having good times together with others. (SaK)
